Dallas Winspear

[Design, et al]

Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Dallas grew up in a visual and performing arts family. He studied photography and digital media before moving to China in 2002. Southern China was his home for the next six years, where he worked as a freelance designer and consultant. In 2008 he moved to Sydney and started working at the Sydney Theatre Company in the sets, props and scenic art departments while gaining his Advanced Diploma in product design at the Design Centre, Enmore.

He carried on studying at the University of Newcastle, where he is on the Dean's merit list of high achievers.

He does regular design work for the Sacremento based toy company Secret Weapon Miniatures, among others, designing miniatures, scale models and kits, usually to be used in table-top games.

He also designs promotional products for various companies here in Australia, designs merchandise for a local art gallery and runs a modeling and 3D printing business on the side.

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe InDesign

I use Solidworks for nearly everything, because it is the industry standard, and the models it produces are stable with good export options.

Rhino is a light modeling program which I use mostly for complex surfacing, or modifying Solidworks models.

I have not been professionally trained in digital sculpting, but I am teaching myself in my spare time.

A horrible program, but one we have to know.

I am currently studying Revit online.

The best 2D program on the planet, I use it almost exclusively for all my graphic work and even use Illustrator created vectors for 3D work.

Who can't use Photoshop these days?!

When I studied desktop publishing we used Adobe Pagemaker. InDesign  seems pretty much the same, with a few Illustrator features thrown in.

As per Photoshop.
